Mission Statement
The mission of the аæèßäapp' Department for Exceptional Children is to ensure that children and youth with disabilities develop educationally, socially, emotionally, and vocationally through the provision of a free, appropriate education and related services in the least restrictive environment.
Current DEC initiatives include:
- Implementation of NC State Improvement Project Grant for Reading, Math, Co-Teaching, and Adolescent Literacy
- Child Find
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention-CPI
- Post Secondary Transition Program-аæèßäapp Links Program
- Coaching Initiative for all EC Teachers
